You know when you look forward to something for so long and then when it's over, you're left with a little aching feeling? You've got memories and photos, but even then, you wish that one thing you've been counting down to for months, wouldn't be over so soon.
Brad and I got back Monday night from out first trip together in we don't know how long. It wasn't for any other reason then to simply get out of Hattiesburg for us. It was something he and I planned, and we've been looking forward to this beach getaway for a long time. Saying it was wonderful was an understatement. We were up and at the beach around 7 every morning with our powdered doughnuts, watermelon and champagne, dinners out every night before the sun went down and asleep no later then 9 p.m. We read a lot, ate a lot, shopped a ton and drank even more.
Not a bad view to wake up to for five days. |
Prettiest we have ever seen the water! |
Thanks to a good friend's suggestions (shout out to Payne's Place) we visited a few restaurants we had never been to. All of which I highly recommend!
After this trip, we've added a few more more "to-do's" for the next time we're in the 30A area: 1. Dinner at Fleming's Steakhouse but next time, watch the martini intake before hand at 2. Tommy Bahama (or you'll be eating your lobster tails for breakfast the next morning). 3. Our favorite dinner spot of the trip was George's at Alys Beach. The Red Bar, you no longer hold the number one spot in our hearts. Watch out! 4. An early night in Baytowne at Marlin Grill.
No one can be on vacation forever, so until next time - back to reality, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't having Sandestin Margarita withdrawals.
